Canton-i at Centerpoint, Bandar Utama

I believe that this outlet is one of the better tasting branches of the Canton-i & Dragon-i empire in Malaysia.

We had an appetizer of Pork Shank with jellyfish and this is a cold dish. The pork shank was only so-so but the cold crunchy refreshing jellyfish strands made up for it.

Next, we had a hot appetizer...Beijing Dumplings...they were just served in a plain white bowl and Hunny and I thought they were just plain meat dumplings until we bit into it and were rewarded with a mouthful of superior broth! The skin of these dumplings are thicker than the normal xiao loong baos but I prefer these dumplings to the latter.
They also taste good with black vinegar and ginger strips...

Have you tasted duck that taste like bacon?? I haven't until I ate Smoked Duck Breast Meat Slices in Canton-i. They tasted superbly divine! I was expecting the usual gamey n slightly tough duck taste and meat but to my absolute surprise...it was tender and had a nice bacon-ny taste! The la-mian (hand pulled noodles) was also yummy...I thought it was probably gone through a noodle machine as athe strands were really standard in length and size but a closer look revealed that it was professionally hand pulled as there were a little unevenness of size. The noodles were well cooked al-dente. I really enjoyed this dish..

Truly a satisfying meal at Canton-i at Centrepoint Bandar Utama.

Chicken Satay at O & S Kopitiam Paramount Garden, Petaling Jaya

Satay is the ultimate yummiest grilled marinated meat on skewers in Malaysia and Indonesia!
Check this out!!! Yummy!! Slightly sweet, really tender, very little fats, nicely grilled without too much burnt bits...and only RM0.50 per stick!!!

The satay are usually accompanied with onion and cucumbers to balance up the meatiness with some vegetables and all these can be dipped in roasted crushed peanut sauce with chillies and spices.

Recent Eats...

Dumplings are defined as fillings of fruits, veges or meat encased in a piece of dough or rice. Every country has its own version of dumplings...Chinese dumpling can be found encased in dough, dough sheets or rice...Italian dumplings are gnocchi or raviolis, etc...

1. I think there was a festive occasion happening in the korean community over this weekend as I saw many many dumplings being prepared and packed at the Korean BBQ Restaurant at Lower Grd, Low Yat Plaza...

2. So..I decided to order their dumpling to try out...

3. The dumpling skin is thicker than our normal dumpling....minced meat contained inside with some bits of prawns, spring onions, pork, and a lil ginger

4. Then Hunny and I ate at Canton-i at Centrepoint BU....Beijing Steamed dumpling....yummy...skin is slightly thicker than their xiao loong bao but a nice surprise when we bit in to it....had yummy soup encased in it too...best eaten with a hint of vinegar...

Here are some of the food that we ate at Canton-i...

5. cold dish pork shank and jellyfish...served with a vinegary sauce

6. My smoked duck breast la mian...yummy...the smoked duck breast tasted like bacon!!! not a whiff of the gamey duckie flavor...

I find this outlet taste so much better than its sister restaurant (dragon-i) at 1U and Pavilion KL...yummy....I must try the Canton-i in 1U and compare...

Breakfast at O`Briens

Last Weekend, Hunny and I ate at O`Briens and it cost him close to a whopping RM55!!!

Here is what we had...

1. Mocha with a shamrock design...

2. I had a pot of soothing Earl Grey Tea

3. This is my shambo combi which was all veges and I added chicken that cost us an additional RM3.00...don't like this bread as I found it dry and not chewy...I'll go back to my fav wrappo the next time we eat here...

4. Hunny's fav triple decker chicken sandwich...chockful of veges and meat and turkey bacon...

5. Hunny bit this into a house shape...is it a sign that we have to buy a new house soon??

The reason y we eat in O`Briens is bec of the fresh ingredients and they don't stinge on the ingredients to make a wholesome sandwich...
Last weekend, Hunny and I ate at O'Briens...a whopping RM60 bfast for just the 2 of us...

Current Updates

I have been neglecting this blog due to an overload of work in the office recently...due to downsizing, my company has decided not to re-hire certain positions after the original employee has resigned causing the workload of those who have gone o be spread out and absorbed amongst the rest of the employees...I too, has been affected by this change. Hence, I work longer hours and come back too exhausted to blog or even indulge in my favorite macrography...
