Dumplings are defined as fillings of fruits, veges or meat encased in a piece of dough or rice. Every country has its own version of dumplings...Chinese dumpling can be found encased in dough, dough sheets or rice...Italian dumplings are gnocchi or raviolis, etc...
1. I think there was a festive occasion happening in the korean community over this weekend as I saw many many dumplings being prepared and packed at the Korean BBQ Restaurant at Lower Grd, Low Yat Plaza...
2. So..I decided to order their dumpling to try out...
3. The dumpling skin is thicker than our normal dumpling....minced meat contained inside with some bits of prawns, spring onions, pork, and a lil ginger
4. Then Hunny and I ate at Canton-i at Centrepoint BU....Beijing Steamed dumpling....yummy...skin is slightly thicker than their xiao loong bao but a nice surprise when we bit in to it....had yummy soup encased in it too...best eaten with a hint of vinegar...
Here are some of the food that we ate at Canton-i...
5. cold dish pork shank and jellyfish...served with a vinegary sauce
6. My smoked duck breast la mian...yummy...the smoked duck breast tasted like bacon!!! not a whiff of the gamey duckie flavor...
I find this outlet taste so much better than its sister restaurant (dragon-i) at 1U and Pavilion KL...yummy....I must try the Canton-i in 1U and compare...
