Chao Yen at 1U New Wing

Hunny and I went to this pricey establishment located at 1U's new wing where Giant Hypermarket used to be. This restaurant serves teochew cuisine and serves alot of dishes be it ala carte or individual meals.

1. Hunny's Pork Intestine White Pepper Soup with Mee Suah. RM17.90

2. My Teochew porridge with scallops, dried oyster, vege and pork meat balls. This type of porridge is different from the cantonese style of cooking as it's like rice with soup. Cantonese styled porridge is rice that has been boiled for a few hours till it breaks down. The bowl came was very big..recommended for 2 person to share so that you can try more dishes. RM19.90

3. See my bowl of yummy goodness...clear and not oily at all. Sweet soup stock. Very hearty and tummy warming.

4. Yummy cold platter...with meat encased in gelatin, stewed pig ears and jellyfish marinated with sesame oil. Very Yummy! I love the gelatinuous bits with melt in mouth texture that bore traces of fermented beancurd (fu-yee in cantonese). Much better than Dragon-i's version. This is my 1st time eating pig's ear and it's so yummy. Tender yet crunchy.

5. So yummy the sesame oil infused jellyfish strips. Crunchy and delicious.

The total bill came up to RM76.00 for the 2 of us. Pricey. We will reserve this restaurant for future occasional treats.
